  • Frederick “Freddie” Roach (born on March 5, 1960) is an American boxing trainer and a former professional boxer.
  • Freddie Roach is arguably the most noteworthy trainer in boxing today and one of the greatest in his craft of all time.

Roach has trained and produced over 20 world champions, with his most prized fighter being the 6‐division world champion and top “pound‐for‐pound” boxer, Manny Pacquiao.

Roach starred in HBO’s hit series, “24/7”. In a recent matchup of two top trainers and their fighters, Freddie Roach’s Pacquiao squared off against Floyd Mayweather Sr.’s Ricky Hatton. With the win, Roach was awarded a five‐foot tall trophy inscribed “Pound‐for‐ Pound the No. 1 Trainer in the World”.

Currently he has been training the MMA and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski, UFC welterweight champion George St. Pierre, and British Boxer, Amir Khan. He also helped to resurrect the career of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. after recently taking him on as a client.

Career achievements include 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2010 Boxing Writers Association of America “Trainer of the Year.”

Inducted in the World Boxing Hall of Fame and California Boxing Hall of Fame.

Roach suffers from Parkinson’s disease due to repeated blows to the head received during his own boxing career. He is one of the leading spokesmen for Parkinson’s along with Michael J. Fox and Muhammad Ali.
